The Vineyard
In the municipality of Arzachena, near the Gulf of Cannigione lies the Campianatu vineyard, where our Vermentino di Gallura Superiore produced in purity is born.
On its western side stands an imposing granite massif that protects it from the strong Mistral winds, on the east side it borders the mouth of the rio san Giovanni, a site of special geo-naturalistic interest , where the Padula Saloni reserve is located.
The Campianatu vineyard, named after the valley of the same name, covers 5 hectares planted exclusively with Vermentino.
Soil
The vineyard is located near the mouth of the Rio San Giovanni, on flat land composed mainly of granitic disintegration mixed with sand and silt.
The soil is heterogeneous: typical very lean, skeleton-rich granite disfaciments alternate with portions of deeper, cooler alluvial soils.
Other areas of the vineyard are characterized by soils richer in clays and still others by dark soils due to the presence of ancient organic matter. Such dissimilarity, while requiring very complex and articulated care, is a guarantee of a great variety of grapes, with different aromatic characteristics, ripening at different times
